PPG/ ATEROMIXOL/ DUPLA

 It is Indicated as cholesterol lowering therapy in patients with type IIa primary hypercholesterolemia (elevation of total serum cholesterol and LDL-C levels) or type IIb (elevation of total serum cholesterol, LDL-C and triglycerides levels). Similarly, it may be prescribed to those hypercholesterolemic patients with type 2 or non-insulin-dependent diabetes (NIDDM), whose hypercholesterolemia meets the aforementioned characteristics.

Treatment should be prescribed when diet alone is insufficient to control total serum cholesterol and LDL-C levels. Therefore, before using this product, other causes of hypercholesterolemia should be ruled out, such as poorly controlled diabetes, nephrotic syndrome, hypothyroidism or active liver diseases. In addition, it inhibits platelet aggregation, because of that, in Cuba is accepted as second indication as antiplatelet agent.
